Ecological Society: Initiative in Organic Farming

    Sep 27, 2018

The Ecological Society at SFHS has been busy these past few months literally sowing the seeds for their organic farming venture with the students of classes 9 and 10. These enthusiastic ‘green farmers’ of our school undertook the task of planting seeds of various vegetables and legumes such as brinjal, lady finger, moong dal pulses and green chillies in the special organic patch deigned for their use at the school premises. The students, under the able guidance of Mr. Rahul Sharma, a dynamic crusader of organic farming in the region, were instructed on organic gardening practices, bringing home to light the advantages of non pesticide foods. The students displayed high levels of enthusiasm in taking this project forward. The resultant organic produce was highly appreciated by one and all and served as a great motivational tool for the students who are now keen to invest their time and energy in organic farming.
