IC3 Regional Forum comes to SFHSMay 12, 2018
The first IC3 Regional Forum, a series of one-day events in high schools across India, South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, that have been organised by the IC3 Conference Committee, was hosted in the School on Saturday. The event, attended by over 30 schools from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh was aimed at bringing together school leaders and college counsellors with university representatives to discuss counselling and admissions practices to shed light on interdisciplinary and unconventional career paths, including those in hospitality, liberal arts and sustainable energy. The sessions aimed to augment skills and awareness of the attendees to tackle ever changing career choices, future job market possibilities, and discussion on strategies to help our students make informed choices for hitherto unforeseen professional opportunities.
The day-long conference, included eminent speakers from leading universities, such as, Prof. Siddharth Shekhar Singh, PhD from the K. L. Kellogg School of Management, USA, and Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Marketing at the Indian School of Business, Mr. Sarosh Daruwalla, the Country Head at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education and Prof. Saikat Majumdar, former faculty at Stanford University and currently atAshoka University, to address the gathering during the very engaging and productive morning session. Air Commodore Kamal Singh, AVSM (Retd), Advisor, Infra-Services at NIIT University, Neemrana, and Ms. Kathleen Modrowski, Professor and Dean at the O. P. Jindal Global University also shared their views on bridging the gap between secondary and tertiary education to ensure as seamless a transition as possible, for the students stepping out from schools. An hour of one-on-one interaction between the visiting university representatives with interested parents and students was also organised at the culmination of the conference.
