World Scholar’s Cup-The Hague

SFHS shines yet again at The World Scholar’s Cup Global Round 2019, held at The Hague, Netherlands from July 20 till July 26.

WSC is an international academic program with students participating from over 182 different countries. The qualifying teams at the Regional Round made it to the Global Round consisting of more than 5,000 scholars from over 50 countries. It took place at the World Forum, The Hague which is one of Netherland’s most beautiful and historic cities.

There were 7 teams representing SFHS, two in the Junior Group and 5 in the Senior Group. Each three member team participated in the competitive and community-building events including the Scholar’s Challenge, Scholar’s Bowl, Team Debate and Collaborative Writing. They got the opportunity to interact with various other children through the Scavenger Hunt, Cultural Fair and the Scholar’s Ball.

The weeklong event included a city tour of Amsterdam with a canal cruise, a visit to Efteling theme park, and a tour of Rotterdam.

Not only did they win an assortment of medals, but also gained a new perspective and brought back great memories.

Junior Team comprising of Aaditya Sharma, Pankti Shah and Vyomm Khanna was awarded the 3rd position overall and 2nd position in South Asia.

Senior team comprising of Deveshi Verma, Myra Verma Pandher, Sehar Gupta bagged the award for the 4th team in South Asia.

Pankti Shah, Myra Verma Pandher and Deveshi Verma were awarded the Top 10 Overall Scholars trophy.

6 teams have qualified for the next round, the Annual Tournament of Champions at Yale University to be held in November this year.
