A BELLETRISTIC EVENING WITH DR. RANA NAYAR

The Literary Club led by Club Secretary, Twishaa Sehgal (11-B) and Joint-Secretary, Tanya Gupta (11-A) recently conducted a talk with Prof. Dr. Rana Nayar.

Dr. Nayar, the former chairperson of the Department of English at Panjab University and a visiting professor for Advanced Studies at University of British Columbia, engaged the audience with his exceptional interpersonal skills.

He talked about his own literary journey while inspiring and encouraging students to write and explore. Poetry, article writing and translation were discussed in detail interspersed with personal anecdotes and witty puns. Dr. Nayar’s words of experience and wisdom helped the webinar to pan out positively.

Lastly, a question-answer round was conducted. A few students put forward their questions and Dr. Nayar responded effortlessly. These varied from facts about journalism to handling writing prompts.

It was an encounter that all attendees would remember for a long time and we hope that as a community, we can benefit from Dr. Rana Nayar’s words of motivation and encouragement. After all, “You don’t write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say.”
