Winnings in the September phase of the UT Interschool Tournaments

The second phase of the UT Interschool Tournaments began on 7th September 2022 in various sports categories. The teams from Strawberry Fields High School participated in these events with enthusiasm, determination, resolve, and focus.

UT Interschool Chess Tournament

The U-17 Boys Chess team started the winning tally for the school by winning the 2nd position in the Interschool Chess Tournament held at GGMSSS, Sector 18, Chandigarh thus winning silver medals. They played well and received appreciation from the officials and other participating schools.

UT Interschool Archery Competition

Raijas Kaur Grewal, of Class 7C, did the school proud by winning the 2nd position in the U-14 Girls Recurve Category in the UT Interschool Archery Competition, thus bagging the silver medal.

Raijas is also currently training for the upcoming CISCE National Archery Competition.

UT Chess U-19 Boys

The first gold of the September phase of the tournaments was won by our U-19 Chess Champions (boys). They played against the teams from Vivek High School-38, Gurukul Global, Manimajra, St. John’s High School, Chandigarh

The team, Shishir Lamba (12C), Himmat Singh Siag (12B), Shardul Sanjay Sharma (11A) and Yajur Oberoi (11B) played brilliantly and bagged the 1st position in the final match against the team from St. John’s by a score of 3-1.

We are proud of you and wish you many more winnings in the future!

 

UT Interschool Shooting Competition

 The gold and silver medal tally went up after addition from our shooters, Anahad Singh Kohli (8E) and Innayat Thakur (8E).

Anahad bagged the 1st position in the 10M Air Rifle category of the Shooting Competition winning a gold medal and

Innayat won the 2nd position in the 10M Air Pistol category thus bagging a silver medal.

Way to go Girls!

UT Interschool Squash Tournament

The U-17 Boys Squash team, Kushalvir Singh Sindhu (10D), Kush Jindal (10B) and Reyansh Goel (9D), did us proud by bringing another set of silver medals by securing the 3rd place in the tournament thus winning bronze medals.

UT Swimming

The SFHS Swimmers participated with enthusiasm in the Interschool Swimming competition held at DPS-40, Chandigarh. Many ace swimmers from schools, in and around Chandigarh, participated in this event. Amreen Sandhu (9B) won the Gold medal in the 50M Back Stroke event (U-17 Girls category). Prannya Nayyar (9C) won the Bronze medal in the 50M Free Style event (U-17 Girls category). Neil Jolly (7A) won the Silver medal in the 50M Breast Stroke event (U-14 Boys category).

UT Interschool Football Tournament

The SFHS U-17 Boys Football team brought home Silver medals by winning the 2nd place in the UT Interschool Football tournament. The team played 5 remarkable matches and received much appreciation from the officials and other participating teams.

The team: Aniketh Singh Sajwan (10C), Maahir Jindal (9D), Agam Bir Singh Nandha (8C), Panav Gulati (8B), Adesh Pratap Singh (9A), Dev Gaurav Ghai (9D), Khyat Mutneja (9C), Harsh (8B), Rehaan Goyal (10C), Fateh Bir Dullat (8A), Advay Bajaj (10C), Saksham Bhatia (8B), Aviraj Singh Kapur (8A), Ayush Sihag (8A), Kartavya Sharma (10C), Mohammed Aayan (9D), Reyansh Goel (9D) and Aryan Mahajan (9C).

The 1st match was played against the team from Divya Public School, Sector 44 which the team won 5-0.

The 2nd match was played and won by a score of 5-1 against the team from St. Xavier’s Sr. Secondary School, Sector 44, Chandigarh.

The 3rd match was played against the team from St. John’s High School, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The team from SFHS won the match after a nerve-racking match by a score of 2-1.

The semifinal match was played against the team from St. Stephen’s School, Sector 45, Chandigarh. The recorded score was 2-2 at the end of the match. This led the team to penalty shootouts in which our team won by 3-1. What an electrifying match!

The final match of the tournament was played and lost against the team from GMHS-37, Chandigarh by a score of 0- 2; thus placing the team in the second position and was awarded silver medals.
