Celebrating Earth Day: Showcasing Sustainable Creativity

April 26, 2024

To celebrate Earth Day, the Geography Department and the Ecological Club of Strawberry Fields High School, joined hands to host a vibrant and eco-conscious event: The Earth Day Soft Board-Making Competition. With a vision to further heighten the magnificence and significance of nature, the competition served to be a beacon of creativity and sustainability.

In line with the school’s ethos of enhancing environmental stewardship, participants were tasked with crafting captivating soft boards that not only dazzled the eye but also championed the use of sustainable materials. Drawing inspiration from UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land), the competition sought to ignite a passion for conservation and responsible living among the young minds of classes 9 and 10.

There was a buzz among the students as they delved into their imaginations, envisioning boards that would not only captivate but also educate. Armed with recyclable materials, organic fabrics, and biodegradable elements, they embarked on a journey to showcase the splendour of our planet while advocating for its preservation.

As the judging panel assessed the entries, it was evident that every board narrated a story—a story of interconnectedness, and a hope for a sustainable future. The passion and commitment of the students shone through in every detail, reflecting their unwavering belief in the power of collective action to safeguard our planet.
