National Mathematics Day

National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 December each year to honour mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan who was born on this date in 1887. High School students began the weeklong celebration by watching the movie, “The Man who knew Infinity”, based on the biography of the great mathematician’s life and journey towards establishing his famed, mathematical theories. The celebration culminated on December 22, with a quiz, based on Srinivasa Ramanujan’s biography. Brain teasers, and questions that tested reasoning/creative thinking skills, we’re posed by grade 11 students to their fellow students, across all classes of High School. The celebration allowed students to know more about the world renowned, Indian Mathematician and his amazing work.
