December 22, 2021 Youth Category Award – Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition Last week, House of Udyog founders and students of Grade 10, Rushil and Aarush Khanna, were awarded third place in the “Best Projects 2021” Category of the global Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition. The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) is a part of the Entrepreneurship Campus and was initiated to empower entrepreneurs all around the world to create innovative answers to global and/or community challenges and to engage in a more peaceful and sustainable world. House of Udyog promotes Sustainable Development Goals by using recycled materials for pret wear, minimising their carbon footprint. Their products are ideal for the new age conscious buyer who is committed to the ingenuity of the "Make in India" initiative. House of Udyog also ensures artisans direct-to-consumer access to uplift communities and preserve livelihoods. Once the knitting clips are collected by House of Udyog, the sorting is done colour wise and are then processed again into fibre. Since spinning alone of these clips does not regenerate fibre, the fibre from polyester PET bottles is added for the spinning process. This material is naturally recycled avoiding the need for any chemical treatment. The regenerated material is called Melange Yarn and is one of the finest yarns for casual wear. It is also GRS (Global Recycle Standard) Certified. Aarush and Rushil presented their sustainable business idea along with 1970+ other participants from around the world and bagged third place. December 21, 2021 Spelling it Right We are pleased to furnish you with the Rank List of the qualifying students from our school, who exhibited a spell binding performance in the 14th National Championship of the MaRRS International Spelling Bee. MaRRS International Spelling Bee is the first and largest English Competition in Asia for schools. Children from various schools spread across 22 states in the country participated in the Championship. The qualifying students from the National Championship are now eligible to participate in the International Championship. We congratulate all the winners and wish them luck for the future endeavors!

December 16, 2021 Collection Drive for Hamari Kaksha
Umeed, tge Community Upliftment Club, in association with the Social Welfare and Community Service Department of the High School organised a Collection Drive from Wednesday, 27 October to Friday, 29 October, 2021. The students of our school donated unused stationery items, including pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks etc. as well as old electronic items in usable condition The items were collected for the children at Hamari Kaksha, an NGO in sector 7-A Chandigarh which aims at providing education and support to underprivileged children and their mothers. The main aim was to provide means for quality education for the children who were facing a shortage of resources after the pandemic. The drive was a heartening success due to the zeal and enthusiasm shown by the students of Strawberry Fields High School. All the items collected during the drive were handed over to Ms. Anuradha of the Hamari Kaksha NGO on Friday, 10th December 2021.

December 14, 2021 Ayaan Garg, the Chess Champion Ayaan Garg, of Class 4, with his excellent abilities in Chess bagged the 1st position and was declared champion in the One Day Open Chess Tournament organised by the Patiala Chess Academy and Rotary Club Midtown Patiala on 4th December 2021. December 13, 2021 Intra House French Punjabi Cultural Poster Making Competition Learning about different cultures offers new perspectives for children. As an extension of the study of French and Punjabi in classes 5 & 6, an intra house poster making competition was organized where children used images to describe in detail the culture of France and Punjab. It was an opportunity for the students to explore both cultures and to celebrate and experience the broad cultural diversity. Children did some research on the food, festivals, traditional dresses and monuments of both cultures and designed some beautiful posters in French and Punjabi. With so many photos capturing the color and spirit of the occasion it was difficult to judge the winners!

December 3, 2021 Best Out of Waste Competition "We do not inherit the earth from our parents, we borrow it from our children!" - Chief Seattle In an initiative to generate the habit of using old things to create beautiful crafts amongst children, a concept which has global significance, intra house 'best out of waste competition' was organized for the students of Class 5 and 6 on Friday, 26th November 2021. Inviting creative art and craft ideas like pencil holders, bird feeder, paper vase, festival decorations, wall hangings, greeting cards, toys and paper jewellery, the fun-filled contest ignited their artistic potential. A learning experience for all, the competition promoted creativity and artistic excellence in our leaders of tomorrow. The children were judged on their creativity, utility of the product, resources used (recycled items) and neatness. November 30, 2021 “Every magic has science behind it and science if full of magic” At SFHS Physics Club, design thinking provides the tools you need to become an innovative thinker and uncover creative opportunities. We proudly present the first ever working model of magnetic levitation created by over budding innovator Namandeep Singh, Class 11C. He demonstrated excellent scientific competence by introducing his expert working model to other club members. It was a truly mesmerising experience to look at the disc flying in air.
