July 30, 2019 A Mission to Make a Difference The Hamari Kaksha program under the School’s community service and SUPW aspect of the curriculum has slowly and steadily grown and evolved into a mutually satisfying experience for all. The students look forward to these sessions and have over a period of time built bonds with the children of the Hamari Kaksha NGO. We have witnessed more involvement and greater engagement in the cause to assist these marginalised children in academics, spoken English, art and craft, computer literacy and more. Fund raisers and workshops too have expanded the reach and the SFHS community, whether it be the educators or the parents, have helped in sowing the seeds of ‘doing one’s bit’ in our students. July 29, 2019 SFHS Indoor Games – Middle School Perseverance and tenacity are often the foundational traits of success. When these are combined with dedication and passion, the result is outstanding. The SFHS Middle School students wore these very traits on their sleeve while participating in the Annual Indoor Games event organised by the institution on the 18th of July, 2019. Together, they put on a spectacular display of hard work, skill and brilliance during the event.Keeping up the tradition, this year too, the same flamboyant spirit among students was witnessed while showcasing their skills at playing games like chess, carrom and table tennis.The Inter-House Competition was organised to present an opportunity to the pupils to display their physical and mental prowess. Apart from commemorating victories, the proceedings also aimed at imparting lessons on camaraderie to children.The thrilling session concluded with the announcement of the names of various winners in each event. July 28, 2019 SFHS MUN – Day 3

The third day of the SFHS MUN continued with the same level of enthusiasm and energetic debate. Spirits were high; and with well backed research, the level of debate too proved to be intense and invigorating.

 In the ECOSOC the pressing issues of trade deficit and debt sustainability were discussed, while the SUWC deliberated on the civil mutinies that threatened Soviet Russia. A heated debate was carried out in the UNHCR regarding the refugee crisis in Venezuela and the members of the UNODC pondered upon the increased drug production in the Golden Triangle.

 The unique simulation of CDUK opined on deal or no deal Brexit, as the Lucknow session of 1916 was simulated in the INC.

 The evening ended with an enthralling musical soirée by the school band.

July 27, 2019 SFHS MUN – Day 2 Taking the spirit forward from the previous day, the second day of the Strawberry Fields High School was charged with unmatched fervour and zeal. The School campus was swamped with the delegates from over 25 schools across the country representing diverse nations in this simulation of the United Nations conference.Simulations of committees focused on various global issues today. The International Civil Aviation Organisation discussed the safety of civil aviation, while the General Assembly debated on nuclear disarmament. The Security Council deliberated on the recognition of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist, and in the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation, the protection of journalists and their freedom of speech was the main focus.The productive morning committee sessions, of debate and deliberations, culminated in a comic yet meaningful theatrical presentation -- “Kaise karenge ?”, starring Darsheel Safary.It was a witty yet soul searching exploration of the universal theme and the resounding applause was testimony to its appeal among all age groups in the audience.The second day ended on a positive note, emphasising the fact that something can be made out of any adverse scenario. July 25, 2019 SFHS MUN 2019 Commences The much awaited Strawberry Fields High School Model United Nations Conference began on a festive note, adding cheer to the spirits already heightened by the cool monsoon showers. The inaugural ceremony was held in the Newton Hall of SFHS on Thursday, the 25th of July, 2019. Filled to capacity, the hall was teeming with delegates, raring to go on an intellectually stimulating journey discovering the intricacies of diplomacy and international relations.Around 400 students from leading schools in the country will take part in more than eight sessions during the MUN conference, modelled around the original United Nations,that will cover topics related to governance, climate change, inclusion and participation of the marginalised, social entrepreneurship and livelihood of refugees.The opening ceremony this evening witnessed the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Hon’ble Justice Krishna Murari, as the Keynote Speaker.Following his inspiring speech, the evening panned out with the musical recital by world renowned Sitar Maestro, Padma Shri Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan. His unique tone and astute artistic sense left the audience spellbound.  Read More

July 22, 2019 SFHS welcomes the Sunbeam School, Varuna, Varanasi In continuation with the School’s endeavour to provide rich learning experiences for its students in terms of hands-on activities, adventure camps, cross cultural educational programs both domestic and overseas, SFHS has recently acquired affiliation with the prestigious AFS Intercultural Programs, India.AFS is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.As a part of this attempt, the first Domestic Intercultural School Program between the Sunbeam School Varuna, Varanasi and Strawberry Fields High School was undertaken earlier this year, wherein 13 students from Class 12 visited the Sunbeam School at Varanasi for a week long stay. Now, a group of 10 students are visiting SFHS from 22nd – 29th July 2019 wherein they will spend time in the city of Chandigarh and also participate in the annual SFHS MUN 2019 alongwith a host of activities that are being organized by the school.We extend our heartiest welcome to our Varanasi guests and look ahead to a rich and stimulating cultural experience. July 19, 2019 SFHS MUN 2019 Strawberry Fields High School is back with the Sixth Edition of the much acclaimed Model United Nations Conference, from 25th to 28th July 2019.Over the course of four days, a setting is created which draws young students into the mainstream by making them comment on different aspects of public life, be it governance, politics, industry, social entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods or poverty alleviation.On our opening evening, we have the keynote address by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Krishna Murari followed by a recital by Sitar maestro, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan.On day two, Kaise Karenge?, an urban Hindi play, starring Darsheel Safary will be staged.Mr. Nehchal Sandhu, former Intelligence Bureau Chief of India will give the concluding address on the last day.
