SFHS INTER-HOUSE MATCHES – 2021

Nelson Mandela once said, “Sport has the power to change the world, it has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand.”

In the wintry chill, the Inter-House Sports matches served like a warm beam of sunshine, filling all of us with joy, unity, enthusiasm, and spirit. The event began with the oath-taking ceremony, by all 4 houses – Agni, Terra, Aether and El maa.

The House Captains initiated the draw – resulting in Agni pitted against Terra House and Aether against El maa House, for Day 1.

Soon the Basketball Court, Tennis Court and the Football Field thundered with exhilarating chants of slogans and cheers. Agni and Aether House bagged the ball, setting the ambition high for Day 2 and Terra and El maa House set out for the third place.

Red, Green, Yellow and Blue shone bright with gusto as Day 2 marked gamesmanship to its essence. Music in the air, excitement on our faces, zest in all the players – the competitions set out with vigour and house spirit. As the sun slowly peeped through the cloudy shadows, it was time to announce the results of the year’s overall sporting performance of the 4 houses.

El maa secured the second runners-up position, Agni bagged the first runners-up and Aether finished first.

Following House photographs, the event came to an end amidst cheers. The Principal, Ms. Sekhon addressed all the players and congratulated them for the unmatched ethos, jubilance, and unity. And with that, the school happily broke off for the Winter Vacations.
