SFHS MUN 2019 Commences

The much awaited Strawberry Fields High School Model United Nations Conference began on a festive note, adding cheer to the spirits already heightened by the cool monsoon showers. The inaugural ceremony was held in the Newton Hall of SFHS on Thursday, the 25th of July, 2019. Filled to capacity, the hall was teeming with delegates, raring to go on an intellectually stimulating journey discovering the intricacies of diplomacy and international relations.

Around 400 students from leading schools in the country will take part in more than eight sessions during the MUN conference, modelled around the original United Nations,that will cover topics related to governance, climate change, inclusion and participation of the marginalised, social entrepreneurship and livelihood of refugees.

The opening ceremony this evening witnessed the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Hon’ble Justice Krishna Murari, as the Keynote Speaker.

Following his inspiring speech, the evening panned out with the musical recital by world renowned Sitar Maestro, Padma Shri Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan. His unique tone and astute artistic sense left the audience spellbound.
