Junior Change Makers – Anti Bullying Campaign

May 29, 2024

The week of May 6-10 2024 saw an empowering display of solidarity and compassion, as the second
group of the Junior Change Makers launched a proactive campaign against bullying. These young
students from Grade 6 are advocating to step up a culture of respect, empathy, and support, to combat
bullying and promote kindness within the Junior School community.

The anti-bullying campaign is driven by the belief that every student has the power to make a difference
in the fight against bullying. Learners in Grades KG to 5 were encouraged to recognize the impact of their
words and actions, and to cultivate a more inclusive and compassionate school environment. Through a
series of power point presentations, engaging activities and conversations, the JCM members equipped
their peers with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize, prevent, and address instances of bullying.
Central to the campaign is the promotion of kindness as an essential tool for fostering positive
relationships. Students are encouraged to reach out to those who may be experiencing bullying or social
isolation. Students are inspired to speak up when they witness bullying behaviour, offer support to those
who are targeted, and actively promote fairness, courage, grace and courtesy.

With their unwavering determination and belief in the power of collective action, the JCM are inspiring us
all to stand up and speak out.
