High School Annual Athletic Meet

Strawberry Fields High School was abuzz with cheer and the joie de vivre that accompanies camaraderie was evident for all to see. The High School celebrated its annual Athletic Meet on the campus today in the warm sunlit morning.

The students displayed true sportsmanship – competing honestly, winning honourably, losing gracefully and respecting authority.

The event commenced with the traditional March Past. The School Captain, Arsheya Kang and the Sports Captains, Divij Singh and Nikhita Krishan, followed by the Sports Prefect, Jaskirat Kaur led the School Marching contingent. Agni House contingent was led and commanded by Captains, Beeya Jagat and Maurya Mahajan. Terra House Captains, Ibaadat Bains and Divij Pahwa lead and gave the commands for their contingent. Aether House was led by Sanjana Bhan and Aarav Verma. The fourth contingent, that of El Maa House, was led by Ria Juneja with Manan Kansil giving the command.

The Chandigarh Police Brass Band, led by Head Constable Yashpal Sharma was in attendance.

Shoulders square, chins up and feet raised in unison, saw the contingents march by the Chief Guest, Sardar Singh Ji, former Captain of the Indian Hockey team, who took the salute.

A display of synchronized activity through various Drills was put up by the Houses. The enthralled audience, cheered the youngsters as they appreciated the effort involved during Martial Arts, Physical Fitness, Yoga and the energetic Zumba performances.

Sprints, Hurdles, Relay races and the evergreen rallier, the Tug of War brought on a roar of cheer from the student supporters.

SFHS alumni relived their wonder years as they participated in field and track events with undiminished vigour.

The trophy for the Best Marching House was awarded to Aether House. The Overall Sports Trophy was also bagged by Aether House.

The day came to a befitting end with the singing of the National Anthem.
