Monsoon Melodies

August 15, 2022

On the eleventh of August at around 1:00pm, the high school students excitedly made their way to the Newton Hall to witness ‘Monsoon Melodies’, a music concert put up by the senior school music group. The stage came alive with a rocking first performance as the piano chords blended into a fusion of pure magic of guitars, drums and voices in unison!

What followed was an extravaganza of songs from all genres and styles sung as duets, trios and choruses! An old favourite “Que sara sara” featured too in the repertoire, sung most remarkably in French and English! The Hindi song “Kyun” got the house clapping and singing along! The smooth transition from one performance to another had the audience enraptured without a pause. The background visuals were well chosen to go with the songs being sung and the pace of the concert was flawless. It was forty-five minutes of non-stop musical entertainment with crisp and clear harmony flowing out of the superb sound system of the Newton hall.

As a finale the entire cast of Monsoon Melodies was on stage singing the favourite hit “As it Was”, a very suitable last presentation suggesting the joy of being back in school once again the way we used to be. The entire audience clapped along building up to a crescendo as the program finally came to an end.
