Read More April 26, 2021 SFHS Celebrates Earth Day With COVID-19 causing public health lockdowns around the world, Earth Day, the planet’s largest civic event, went entirely digital for the first time in its history last year. Despite the amazing success and decades of environmental progress, we find ourselves facing an even more dire, almost existential, set of global environmental challenges, from loss of biodiversity to climate change to plastic pollution, that call for action at all levels.The students participated in the Earth restoration drive by showing keen interest in the Creative Photo challenge 2021 along with Yuvasatta to spread awareness through social media.We at Strawberry Fields High School would like to restore our Earth to a cleaner, fairer, better world for everyone Read More April 23, 2021 IBDP INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIVE VIRTUAL SESSION WITH IB SCHOOLS A collaborative learning is a process where students work in groups on inquiry based tasks that require high order thinking and problem solving skills. Students work collaboratively and Knowledge is jointly constructed by students in collaborative groups. The educator helps students develop motivation towards interaction in the well planned collaborative process.Strawberry Fields High School led an interdisciplinary English session with Economics and Visual Art on 18 April, 2020 in collaboration with 40 IB schools from India and abroad. The session was focused on the importance of ATL skills, Learner Profile attributes, TOK and interdisciplinary links in the teaching and learning process. The participants including students and educators from various IB schools participated in the activities conducted during the session and shared insightful ideas using padlet links. The differentiation strategieswere shared and discussed through various tasks during the session, such as padlet graphic representation,choice board, think pair share, mind map, mini collaborative tasks, Mini task 3 min presentations, exit ticket padlet, concepts, field of inquiry and area of exploration cards based tasks and reflections.Collaborative tasks and groups are structured so that teams of students must rely on one another to share resources (e.g., materials, knowledge, experience, insight, and skills) and communicate with each other in order to complete a task and arrive at a consensus best achieved with equitable participation of all participants collaboratively. This was the main motif of the session.Overall the session was well appreciated by all and resources created during the session were shared with the participants. Bhai Shiraz Singh Sidhu, a student of class XI, Strawberry Fields High School, Chandigarh, once again stole the limelight recently by winning two golds medals in various events of the 45th Chandigarh State Shooting Championship, held from 23rd to 27 February at the sector 25 shooting range. This marks his three year streak, since 2018 onwards he is successfully defending his title (in both junior men’s and senior men’s division) in the .22 (50 metres) prone open sight and 3 position O.S. respectively.Now Shiraz who is also a national renowned shooter in Shotgun events, will represent Chandigarh in the upcoming North Zone Shooting Championship in Jaipur next month, following which he will compete in the Shooting Nationals to be held in Delhi.Congratulations, Shraz!
