Read More May 20, 2021 Healthy lifestyle webinar Healthy lifestyle webinars for students of class 5, 6, 7 and 8 were conducted by the IBDP year 2 students. They had invited a guest speaker for the session Ms. Deepthy Sebastian, a clinical dietician from Sultanate of Oman. She is a lifelong member of Indian dietetic association and lifelong members of nutrition society of India. The webinars were held on 13 May and 17 May 2021.The webinar was conducted to celebrate the annual event National nutrition week 2021. Generally held from 1 September to 7 September, this week celebrates healthy living and encourages people to make positive changes to their lifestyle. Through this webinar IB DP students aimed to promote healthy eating, drinking and physical activity and hope to create awareness to achieve an overall healthier way of living across the school community. The motive was to make young students understand that living healthier is not as hard as one thinks. These sessions encouraged students to eat healthier, avoid harmful vices and increase levels of physical activity in their daily lives.The webinar was conducted to create awareness among the students about leading a healthy lifestyle in the global pandemic situation. Dr. Sebastian informed about the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy diet, exercising daily, sleeping well, and managing stress. In the webinar students were informed on how to calculate their ideal body weight, create and follow a balanced routine and keeping our health in check. Read More May 17, 2021 Shiladhar 2021 The fourth edition of “Shiladhar” , the much awaited Annual Literary Inter House Recitation Competition organized by the Hindi Department took place on the evening of 11th May 2021. Unfazed by the limitations of a virtual platform, the students of Grades 9 – 12 put up a spectacular show. Different literary genres like ‘Hasya Kavita, ‘Atmakatha vachan’ , ‘vishavlokan vachan’ were delved into.It was an engaging event that left the audience questioning and pondering over the powerful points put across in all the speeches. This platform truly served as a place where students were able to freely voice their opinions and express their views in the form of beautiful literary pieces. The conviction with which the pieces were spoken and delivered was heart warming. The awards were then announced by the prestigious judges consisting of- Ms. Shefali Arora, Ms. Archana Gulati and Mr. Mohan Khariyal. Read More May 11, 2021 Digital Logo Designing Competition INTRA-HOUSE DIGITAL LOGO DESIGNING COMPETITION“ELEMENTS OF LIFE - DIGITAL STYLE”“Air moves us; Fire transforms us; Water shapes us; Earth heals us”The House Period, on May 7th 2021, bore witness to an enthusiastic participation by students of class 5 and 6 in a Digital Poster Making Competition to represent their version of the respective House Logos.The House names reflect the ancient knowledge of the elements of nature and the symbolism associated with them. Each of the House mascots/logos, traditionally representing the four elements (Earth, Water, Air and Fire), were artistically reimagined and recreated by the participants, with an original tagline added to the digital poster. Since the platform was digital, students were encouraged to use different programs/apps to create interesting and innovative versions of what the House element signified and how they related to it.Winners were selected on the basis of their unique logo design; thought-provoking tagline and typography; simplicity and neatness; relevance; and memorability.Heartiest congratulations to all the participants for their fervour and zeal. Read More May 7, 2021 Extended Essay Café The extended essay is an independent, self-directed piece of research which is highly regarded as a tool to help IB Diploma Programme students learn the critical thinking skills and processes associated with carrying out research, enabling them to move more comfortably into the realm of universities, colleges and career.An online EE café session took place on Thursday, 29 April 2021 where IBDP Year 2 students explained the entire process required to complete the IB extended essay- from the initial step of choosing a research topic, through effectively searching for information and organizing their resources to presenting their findings with accurate references and citations.Students were prepared to explain and identify the subject in which they were writing their essay and the topic that interested them. Their presentation included an organized electronic space which was used to record thoughts, reactions, ideas, and to keep track of resources required for their EE. They also presented snippets of interesting findings they came across in their reading, problems encountered and solutions found wherever applicable.The presentations surely convinced the audience that students have done research, are making progress on the research question, and that they know their topic well.
