On 20th December, Strawberry Fields High School had its Closing Day Ceremony for the batch of 2020.

It was a bittersweet day for the graduating batch, who although eager to start their new lives outside of school were feeling emotional and nostalgic.

The day started off with an invigorating Treasure Hunt organised for the Grade 12 by their juniors.

This was followed by the speeches of the students which left the audience teary eyed. The graduating batch was addressed by the High School Coordinator, Ms Shabnam Singha and the Principal, Ms. Sangeeta Sekhon one last time.

The traditional candle lighting ceremony then witnessed the students of class 12 sharing with their juniors values which they felt were necessary to have as students. The values given were resilience, ingenuity, acceptance, respect, and last but not least tenacity.

We, at SFHS wish the Batch of 2020 all the very best for the future!

December 21, 2019 Class 2 Assembly

Staying true to the spirit of this festive season, the students of Class 2 came together in the most beautiful way to reiterate a lesson on kindness.

The young performers staged the age old, much loved tale, ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’. They endearingly brought all characters to life and not only sang and danced as a part of the performance, but also made a grand display of their theatrical prowess. The musical was well received by the audience, which was kept glued to their seats with the children’s eloquent dialogue delivery and stage presence.

The act was a perfect blend of collaborative effort, coming together as a group, learning from each other and appreciating own strengths as well. It most definitely served as a befitting end to the term and the year here, at SFHS!

December 19, 2019 World Scholar’s Cup – The Tournament of Champions at the Yale University The month of November was filled with a competitive spirit as the students of SFHS geared to represent their school in the international arena - the much awaited, final round of the World Scholar’s Cup - The Tournament of Champions at the Yale University. Many begin this competition as an extracurricular, but end it on a bittersweet note. It involves interacting with people by acknowledging their awkwardness, listening to world famous poets’ talk about times they weren’t world famous, eating dinner in the halls alongside students of leading universities, and creating life-long friendships with people that live half way across the world. The World Scholar’s Cup revolves around 4 (mostly) academic events, which include a debate (where a team doesn’t lose, but ‘lollipops’), MCQ challenge (yes, you can mark 5 options), creative collaborative writing round, and one that involves a clicker (it’s not a matter of surprise if knowledge of famed TV show Brooklyn 99 is a must to succeed). Our students were a part of the junior and senior teams, which participated in all categories. Their fervor and enthusiasm was evident and they garnered many positions in the various events that were conducted during the span of six days. It was a proud moment for SFHS when their versatile pupil, Pankti Shah was chosen to be the flag bearer of India during the closing ceremony, an honour bestowed on a few. Junior category (Teams)1. Ishittta Groverr and Hazel Garg2. Vyomm Khanna, Aaditya Sharma and Pankti Shah Senior category (Teams)1. Deveshi Verma, Myra Pandher Verma and Sehar Gupta2. Kismattdeep Kaur Dosanjh, Ishika Wadhwa and Zaara Brar3. Shishir Lamba and Himmat Singh Siag4. Vaanya Gilhotra, Mayunk Shekhar Singh and Advitya Arora A visit to Boston and the two coveted universities – MIT and Harvard along with the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square and the Grand Central Terminal made the trip memorable.
